For those of you who haven't been to school today, I'd like to repeat an important announcement. Tomorrow will be the last day of class until Monday the 11th of January. You've all earned a nice break and I'm sure everyone would rather stay home during this immense cold. Enjoy your time off, but don't forget to do your homework. I'd like you all to write an essay on winter weather in your home world. Two pages minimum. If your world doesn't have winter, feel free to write about a similar season, or why you believe your world wouldn't suffer from those sort of extreme weather conditions.

I decided to also delve into trying to teach it to myself and someone else from my world since we learned the same Filial magic together. [And there's theory and conjecture and who knows what else Hermione could squeeze in.]

That sounds like it'll be a fascinating read. I'm sure you'll put the same amount of work into your next essay.

It always is easier to write about one's interests. I have to admit, I have a bit of a soft spot for the snow as well.

[Despite being the busybody for the holidays, Miyabi's been curious about this school thing. Most of what she's learned was back home with her teacher, Ishaku. Painting, philosophy, swordplay, and the ever important Brush Skills she learned mostly from him.

So, hearing about this world's version of education, the tiny painter can't help but be a little curious.]

After school let out, Colette decided to embark on a SECRET HOLIDAY PROJECT!!! So she's got what looks like baking utensils in a bag. But then she spots Gelda.]

I'm a bit concerned about the village-wide memory loss, as well as the number of recent kidnappings. Personally, though, I'm quite well.

[...true, but she's not looking at it right now. She's gathering papers from a place off to the side. But in a minute she'll be back and then you can see her beaming smile.]

I'm glad to hear that you're well... though I also am concerned. I don't understand what could have caused it. And the kidnappings are worrisome, as well.

[Gelda doesn't really condone fake friendships. Let's hope she never finds out about that.]

It reminds me of home. Keterburg, the city where I used to live, is located in a particularly cold region. It's been nicknamed the Silver City.

I came here from Jyuban District, in Tokyo, Japan.

Ah, we have all sorts of classes. Just the basics, of course. What with all the different worlds, we can't teach anything too specialized. The subjects are history, writing and reading, mathematics, a bit of science, magic and art. There is also a bit of physical education, but as we no longer have a teacher for that class, it's a bit of a flaky subject. Mostly, we encourage students to go outside and play sport-type games.

[Gelda looks up from her diligent work to give Colette a friendly smile. Her hands are still molding snow as she speaks, though.]

[Ohoh, excellent. Smiles are what make teaching worthwhile.]

An awfully similar incident occurred last year, around this exact same time. I can only assume the two situations are connected. Additionally, according to a survey Alexei recently conducted, many previous kidnappings have happened during the time of winter.

Ah, Japan. I've heard about that country. It's on the world called Earth, correct?
