Welcome to Luceti, all you New Feathers. My name is Gelda Nebilim, I'm one of the teachers at the local school. We teach a variety of subjects and classes are open to everyone, so if you're interested in attending, feel free to let me know. I'll gladly answer any questions you may have.

However, I also have a question. Is there anyone currently in Luceti who has the power to perform a wedding? A member of a church, perhaps? It doesn't matter which world you originate from. Please, speak up.

And while I am on the subject, I'm curious. How do wedding ceremonies take place in other worlds? What sort of customs does everyone have? I'm sure every culture has their own unique take on marriage.

[That is the door I meant, yes. And the sight of Nephry isn't exactly a good one. If she claims she's feeling better than before, imagine what she looked like earlier.]

Good afternoon, Nephry. [Gelda won't bother with further small talk- she's just going to stride towards her student and place a hand on her forehead.]

[You don't want to know what she looked like earlier. Her fever's up pretty high but within the next day or so it will go away and she'll start to actually get better.]

Looks like I'd better get started on that soup. [She's got a full bag of fresh vegetables with her, so Nephry can be sure it'll be extra healthy.]

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to eat, but I'll try.

That's the spirit. If you need me, I'll be in the kitchen.

[You won't be able to hear her. But she nods and tries to smile with more energy than she actually has.]

[When Gelda returns with a bowl of hot soup a short while later, she looks a little distracted. Nonetheless, she carefully places the bowl on Nephry's nightstand.]

Careful. It's still hot.

[actually, she's been dozing off. In the absence of company or the occasional ten minutes of feeling not-so-sick, this is what she does.]

[Gelda takes a seat by her bedside. She doesn't mind that Nephry fell asleep- the more rest, the better. Until she wakes up, Gelda will be right here.]

[it's just a light half-sleep. Soon she registers that someone's back in the room with her and her eyes pop open again]

Oh, Professor...I apologize.

It's fine, Nephry. There's no need to apologize.

[sitting up again now. She remembers there is soup in this deal and it does smell delicious.]

I shouldn't have fallen asleep with company here.

You're sick. Falling asleep is perfectly excuseable. [In fact, she rather wishes Nephry had slept a bit longer.]

[Maybe it was excusable when she was six, but at thirty-fiveish it's less so. Besides, then the soup would have been cold.]

I have plenty of time to sleep.

[Soup can be reheated, though!]

That doesn't mean you should allow the opportunities to pass you by.

[This argument is not going to get anyone anywhere. She will just wait for Gelda to hand her the soup.]

[Well, alright then. She'll carefully hand it over.]

... Where is Saphir?

[yes, it is possible for her to look even more down than she already did.]

Not here right now.

I should hope he'll be back soon. It isn't right for him to leave you when you're ill.

[Oh Gelda, if only you knew.]

He didn't have a choice.

Oh?

He was kidnapped.

... Oh. That's... [Troublesome. The timing for this was pretty lousy.]

When did this happen?

I'm not entirely sure. ...I'm sorry.

[she's managed about half of the soup...and it seems like all it can do.]

[She shakes her head, then holds out both hands to take the bowl back.]
